LIR BIOTECH operates a PCR laboratory to screen and detect infected animals in the sub-clinical stage and also diagnosis of viral infections. We currently have two units of conventional PCR machines, one with gradient function.
We are in the process of introducing and providing integrated solutions for real-time PCR detection. Our prefered choice is using TaqMan chemistry. We can integrate and provide solutions for :
- Real-Time Hardware and complete Laboratory set-up
- Real-Time detection kits (TaqMan) - WSSV, TSV, YHV, IMNV, IHHNV, HPV, MBV . Soon we will make available kits for fish diseases.
- Hands on training covering machine, PCR protocols and also practical training on sampling strategy, target sample etc.
- Lectures on shrimp and fish diseases.

Above : Comparisons between IQ Real-Time (TaqMan) and IQ2000 Kits. Very good correlation between both kits and with IQreal , we can quantify the viral load. Light, Medium and Severe infections show increasing WSSV viral load.
