LIR Biotech completed a prawn viral screening  turn-key project for a leading sea-food processor  in eastern Kalimantan early  November 2008.   Export of frozen prawns to certain countries now requires viral inspection to  ensure a clean bill  of health.  The new  enhanced biosecurity  is to ensure that  exotic  virsuses are  not introduced into  importing  countries.  Some of the frozen prawns are used as  bait for commercial or sports angling.

The project involved  lab design , hardware supply,  right detection platform and hands on training.  We integrate the whole process from sample processing, PCR techniques, results intepretation and trouble shooting.
